Helping Youth Prevent Engaging in Risky Behavior (HYPE 2.0) program was designed to educate youth ages 14-19 on abstinence, teen pregnancy prevention, HIV/AIDS, STDs/STIs, and positive youth development. The program uses the evidence based curriculum BART: Becoming a Responsible Teen and incorporates Money Talk, a financial literacy introductory component developed to promote financial stability and increase economic growth.
The HYPE 2.0 program also includes other adult preparation subjects:
-
Community service projects
-
Healthy relationships
-
Adolescent development
-
Education and career success
-
Parent-child communication
HYPE 2.0 hosts an annual Youth Summit to all youth living in Harris County to promote positive youth development, medically accurate information and resources, and parental support. The youth summit bridges the gap between community stakeholders and community residents.
