Refugee Youth Mentoring Program


The Refugee Youth Mentoring Program addresses the needs of the youth and support them with mentorship and other opportunities. Youth ages 15-18 are provided one-on-one mentorship and youth 18-24 old, are provided with group mentoring. While matching youth with Mentors some of the areas considered are shared cultural, linguistic, ethnic, gender, and interest factors.
The program cover the following four areas:
1. Academic Support
2. Family Engagement
3.Critical Youth Empowerment & Civic Engagement
4.Individual and Group Mental Health Counseling
Mentoring activities include:
•Set goals together
•Go to a movie
•Talk about career planning
•Visit a college or university
•Find a summer job
•Talk about work and life
•Go holiday shopping
•Talk about personal values
•
